Helps Build His Community

Stuart Janvier believes in the value of organized activities for young people. “Recreation and sport shapes youth in so many positive ways,” Stuart says. “It provides youth with self-confidence and pride and keeps them active.” For these reasons, Stuart has served as president of Janvier’s Dene Youth Association for the past five years. The group organizes year-round sports activities such as basketball, hockey and baseball, and also organizes programs and activities during the summer months when kids have more time on their hands. Syncrude has supported the association by providing funds to build an ice rink and playground, and to help pay the salaries of summer youth leaders.
